How We Choose Our Teachers
A good teacher is not simply someone who knows the subject. We look at subject knowledge, teaching ability, communication and whether the teacher is suitable for the individual learner.
Relevant knowledge and background
We review the teacher’s relevant Quran, Arabic or Islamic Studies background, previous study and teaching experience according to the subject they will teach.
Quran reading and Tajweed assessment
For Quran teaching, we assess practical reading accuracy and Tajweed where relevant, including the teacher’s ability to notice mistakes and correct them clearly.
Teaching demonstration
We look at how the teacher explains, listens, corrects mistakes and adapts the pace of the lesson instead of relying only on qualifications.
Working appropriately with children
Teachers working with children need patience, clear communication and an age-appropriate teaching style. Parent communication and professional boundaries also matter.
Matching the teacher to the learner
We consider age, gender, preferred language, current level, learning goal and availability. The trial lesson helps confirm whether the match works in practice.
Ongoing follow-up
Teacher selection is not the end of the process. Student progress, lesson notes, attendance and feedback help us identify when support or a different match may be needed.
